We construct circuits of stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley neurons, with interaction clockwise around the circuit. For suitable choice of parameters and suitable balance between excitation and inhibition, we observe spiking patterns in self-organized slow rhythmic oscillation around the circuit. As a prerequisite, we have to consider single stochastic Hodgkin-Huxley neurons with constant signal, and to define (exploiting positive Harris recurrence) what it means for a stochastic neuron to be regularly spiking or to be quiet.
